Wayne began his STEM-focused education journey in 2013, co-founding UTC Reading alongside Jo Harper, now CEO of the Trust. In 2017, he took a sabbatical to help establish what became UTC Heathrow, serving as Vice Principal before becoming Principal in 2018 when the school joined the Trust. With a teaching career that began in 1998, Wayne has held roles as an Advanced Skills Teacher, Head of Faculty, and Head of Department across various educational settings. In March 2023, he returned to UTC Reading as Executive Principal; a school close to his heart and community, where he has lived for over 26 years. As of September 2024, Wayne took on the role of Executive Director of School Improvement (EDSIP) within the ALET leadership team. In this role, he drives key strategic initiatives and supports ALET schools in achieving their mission of Transforming Lives Through Learning. Wayne sits on a number of Skills boards in the Thames Valley and National groups driving the skills agenda within Education. Wayne is passionate about working with employers to drive skills and education.
